Silver Eyes with a Pop of Color

Revlon is one of my favorite drug store brands. Every Revlon product I've bought I  loved So, I recently bought the Revlon ColorStay quad in Silver Fox at my local Walgreens during their 40% off sale (along with others haha) and what attracted me to this product was the pretty teal/green color.

I think colors like that are fun and make every eye color pop. This is the look I did using this quad.

Short Tutorial
  • I used the silver color all over the lid, patting it with a regular eye shadow brush.
  • With a crease brush I placed the top purple color on the outer edge of the eye and blended in a little with the silver.
  • Taking a small angled eyeliner brush, I placed the teal/green color in the bottom lash line.
  • To make the eye pop i used the white color just in the inner corner of my eye.
  • Add mascara and we're done!
*this white was probably meant to be used as a highlight color but its too light for me so, I used Sugar Cookie from Still Glamorus Cosmetics below the brow bone.

Purple Nail Art

Since the weekend is here I thought id show you what my nails looked like this week! I recently bought "I Love You" by SinfulColors at Walgreens and i thought it was such a gorgeous color I had to do something cute with it. This is what I came up with.

Products used

Tutorial for ring finger nail
  • Polish your whole nail using Ultas- Concrete Evidence.
  • On the inner half use SinfulColors- I Love You. *Make sure to do this part carefully  You want the line to be as straight as possible.
  • With the Black nail art polish, carefully make 4 diagonal lines on the gray part.
  • Make another 4 lines going in the opposite direction. It should give it the cris-cross effect.
  • Use and top coat and your done!

*Its best to put any design on the outer part of the nails. Its more appealing to the eye and more people notice it :)

On the Go Simple Makeup

This morning I woke up not wanting to spend all the time in the world looking though my makeup bag and trying to figure out what to do. So, I thought i'd challenge myself a bit and grab only 5 products and 1 brush to use on my eyes to create a nice and unique look. This is what i came up with :) Oh, and did I mention that not only was this easy it was super fast! I just love it when I can do my make up in less then 15 mins!
Looks like it took time but it really didn't. That's the best part!

Here are the products I used.

This is my favorite mascara!!!

Tutorial
  • Apply the "Eye and Lip Primer" all over your lid and blend it out.
  • With the "Oval Fluff Brush" pat on "Heirloom" to the lid and blend it upward.
  • Apply "Stash" eyeliner and make a small wing.
  • Line your lower lid using "Eldorado" and sweep it up underneath "Stash" so that they connect on the outer part of your eye.
  • Last but not least, Apply mascara or falsies (I did not use falsies for this look) and you done!

I hope you enjoyed this look! :)

NAKED Smokey Eye Tutorial

Products

Urban Decay NAKED palette: Half Baked (1), Smog (2), Dark horse (3)Virgin (4)
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner: Zero
Still Glamorus Cosmetic brushes: shadow crease, round contour, oval fluff
Avon: Shadow Brush

Tutorial :)
  • Apply Urban Decays Primer Potion all over your lid with your finger and blend it out. *This helps make the shadow last longer and prevents creasing.
  • With the shadow crease brush, apply Smog (2) in your crease.
  • Take the oval fluff brush and apply Half Baked (1) to the lid and lower lid in a patting motion. *this helps to intensify the color and limits fall out.

  • With the round contour brush, make a small "V" shape in your outer corner using Dark Horse (3) and also apply it to the lower outer part of your lid.
  • Blend it out using the shadow crease brush * It is very important to blend out any harsh lines, so blend, blend, blend :)
  • Then last but not least, take a fluffy shadow brush and apply Virgin (4) as a highlight just below the brow bone and into the tear duct and blend again.
  • Apply UD 24/7 eyeliner in Zero to your lid and into your water line.

Modern Nail Art Tutorial

I thought I would have a little fun and do something different with my nails and this is what I came up with. Hopefully this tutorial works for you ladies :) If you have any tips on how I can better my tutorials, please let me know ;) ENJOY!

Polish alternating nails with the colors of your choice. I chose to use Sally Henson Insta- Dri in Purple Bolt and Silver Sweep.
Then with the opposite color polish the tips in a diagonal motion. I did mine a bit messy haha, I will get better with practice :)
The last step is to take Purple Bolt and make 3 to 4 dots on the Silver part of the nail. If you have a dotting tool this will work great, but since I don't have one yet, I simply used an open bobby pin.
Clean around the edges and were done!! :)

Simple and Easy Glitter Tips

I love the simplicity and sophisticated look of the french tip, but
I also wanted something other then a plain white tip.  So i thought id change it up a bit and use a little color and glitter. This look was very simple and easy to do :) Here is how i did it!
  • Make sure your nails are clean of any dirt and oils. I go over every nail with a little but of 100% acetone on a cotton ball.
  • File and shape your nails (if needed)
  • Apply base coat (I used Santee plus base coat)
  • Just on tips apply desired color (I used Sally Hansen Insta-dry in Silver Sweep)
  • Apply a glitter of your choice (I used Wet and Wilds Wild Shine in Sparked)
  • Finally, apply top coat and your done!!
Tip** When you apply your top coat, sweep the brush at the very ends of your tips. This helps to seal in your polish and it wont chip ;)

I normally change my polish at least twice a week, but with this look, i will probably try out new art designs and see what new looks i can come up with :) I hope you enjoyed this! I look forward to sharing more looks and designs with you soon :D

Top 5 favorite summer polishes!!

When I think of summer, I think of bright fun colors. Here are my top 5 favorite polishes I loved wearing this summer! Starting form the far left i will list my discriptions, price, and wear I bought each nail polish. ENJOY! :)

Milani Jewel FX- 530 Gems: This is a chunky glitter polish. I've worn this alone and layered over another polish. I did have to layer a couple coats of clear top coat to get a smooth finish, but over all it was a fun look to wear.
$4.49 at CVS

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri- Golden Flash: It's a soft peach with golden undertones. The metallic finish is gorgeous!
$5.00 at Walmart

Elf- Mango Madness: I wore this color a lot! Coral polishes complement every skintone. Beautiful all year long!
$5.00 set of 5 in summer collection at Target

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear- 340 Mint Sorbet: This color is a bright mint green. Perfect for summer partys. I wore this polish by itself and I've also done a gradient nail art look that i will later post as a tutorial ;)
$2.49 at Target

Sally Hansen Hi-Definition- 01 Cyber: Gorgeous purple color with a slight blue undertone. I feel like this purple just pops when I put it on my nails. It's definitely a fun color to wear!
$5.00 at Target
