NOTD- Green Gradient look

Loving this look today! I decided to use these colors together, because I thought they complemented each other well and they both had a metallic look to them. Metallic polishes are very trendy right now. ;)
I hope you enjoyed this nail look <3

Products used

How I did this!
  • Applied Base coat
  • Used 2 coats of Ultas "Jaded".
  • Applied and light layer of Ultas "Alter Ego" to only the bottom half of my nail.
  • Added another layer of "Alter Ego" to only the tips of my nail.
  • Lightly applied a coat of SinfulColors "Call You Later" glitter to the bottom half on my nail, flicking the brush upward to give it the effect that the glitter was settling at the tip of the nail.

My Day/Night Facial Routine

Makeup Remover
Neutrogena Make-up Remover Towelettes
25 towelettes per pack
Walgreens $6.49
I have been using these towelettes for a few months now and they work great! Especially because my eyes are pretty sensitive. I like that I can take off all my eye makeup with no problem.

Facial Cleansers
Clean&Clear Deep Action Cream Wash
6.5 oz
Target $4.99
In the morning after I wake up I like to use this to wash my face. It leaves my face feeling soft and fresh. It almost has a minty tingling feeling going on while i'm washing, but I like that because I know its working :) and it helps me to wake up.

St. Ives Apricot Scrup
6 oz.
Target $3.04
I only exfoliate 3 to 4 times a week. I like to keep this in the shower so I don't forget to use it haha It really has improved the way my skin looks and feels. If your looking for a great exfoliate scrup I recommend this one. Very affordable, smells good, and really works!

Facial Moisturizers

Clean&Clear Finishes Pore Perfecting Moisturizer
1.7 oz.
Walmart $6.97
I like to use this moisturizer in the morning before I prime and put my makeup on. It has a thin consistency so I don't feel like I have tons on product on my face after I use it.

Targets Up&Up Moisturizing Lotion Radiant Skin with SPF 15
4 fl oz.
Target $10.49
This is what I like to use at night after I wash my face. It is a thinker moisturizer so I like it to soak into my skin at night so my face is nice and soft in the morning

*** Its always good to keep your face moisturized. I had very dry skin and since I have been moisturizing more, I notice my face is getting more on the normal side and not so dry anymore.***

Weight loss update: Week 2

Week 2 Update

Weight lost: 4 lbs (in 2 weeks)
Next weeks weight loss goal: 2 lbs
Total lost: 4lbs
How I feel overall
Overall I feel great. My energy level is about the same, but I figured that could just be because of my thyroid medication I am taking, I'm not sure. I haven't noticed any difference in how my clothes feel because I have only lost 4 lbs, so im not expecting any changes right away.

How I feel emotionally
These last 2 weeks I have really cut down on my calorie intake thanks to My Fitness Pal. The website and the app on my phone really helps and motivates me to stay on track and make sure I stay within my daily calorie goal. I feel good knowing that I did good that day staying under or meeting my calorie goal.

The relationship with my husband has also been great. He realizes how much I want to change my life and lose weight. Having the support from my family and friends is awesome! It is a great feeling knowing that people are rooting for me to better myself and be healthy

This weeks struggles
I am a huge Coca-Cola addict. Yes, I am admitting it haha. I just love it. Cutting out soda completely from my diet I would say has been my biggest struggle. I would typically have 3 to 4 sodas a day before this. I know this is horrible and this is why I gained so much weight over the years. I also struggle with not being able to order whatever I want when I go to eat. Im use to eating foods that are loaded with carbs and calories. This will be a big change for me. I'm not cutting my favorite foods out completely. If I have a pizza ill just have 1 slice and a side salad and water or unsweetened tea, not 2 or 3 slices with bread sticks and a coke like I use to do.

Benefits
Since I gave up soda I have replaced it with more water, unsweetened tea, and juices.  :)  This will help clear up my skin more and my body will be more hydrated.

What I will do differently for next week
I want to eat more veggies and try different foods. I am a very picky eater. For the past 2 weeks I sort of been eating the same foods everyday. Examples would be: breakfast I would have scrambled eggs, water and maybe an apple, lunch would be small just a turkey sandwich on wheat bread, and for dinner I would make some egg salad. Pretty boring right? I want this to change and I know I can change this I just have to explore foods and not be so picky.
I also want to but some exercise videos. I am not one to go out and jog for hours, I would rather do aerobics or dance my weight off. Its more fun and I can do this in the privacy of my home.

My weight loss journey has just begun and I know it will only get harder as the months go on. I will definitely try my hardest to stay on track and change my diet forever. I would love the support and kind words from all of you. If you have blogged your weight loss journey I would love to read it. Please leave the link in the comment box below :) I find it inspirational to read how others accomplished there weight loss goals and finding new tips and tricks is always great.

Have a beautiful day and stay healthy :)

My Foundation Routine

My Foundation Routine

Primer
After I cleanse and moisturize my face I like to prime my face using Still Glamorus Cosmetics Foundation Primer. I only use about a nickle size amount for my whole face including my neck. This helps make my foundation last longer and also the primer acts as a barrier for my skin preventing blemishes caused by my make-up.

Foundation Primer
Still Glamorus Cosmetics Foundation Primer
1 fl oz
$14.50

Foundation
After I have primed my face, I apply my foundation. My all time favorite foundation is the Revlon ColorStay. I am the shade Fresh Beige right now. Summer is leaving us so, I will eventually have to go a bit lighter. (This foundation does give full coverage to the face and it also has SPF 15 in it, so if you are looking for a full coverage foundation I highly recommend this one). I like to apply my foundation with a stippling brush from ELF cosmetics. Very affordable, only $3 from there studio line at my local target or at eyeslipsface.com

***Quick tip: if you have dry skin try applying MACs Fix+ before your foundation. This will help add a little more moisture to you face and it will give you that air brushed look***

Revlon Colorstay Makeup For Comb/oily Skin - Fresh Beige
Revlon ColorStay
1 fl oz
Ulta $11.99

Concealer
I started to use Almay's Wake-Up concealer in Light/Medium. I like my concealer to be bit lighter then my foundation, that way it brightens up my eyes and it makes my skin look awake and fresh.  To apply this I use the Deluxe Crease brush from Samantha Chapmans Real Techniques brush kit (Ulta $17.99) I only apply the concealer under my eyes and if I have any dark spots or blemishes.
Almay Wake Up Concealer
0.22 fl oz.
CVS $8.99

Powder
To set my foundation I use the Revlon ColorStay Pressed Power in medium. I don't use a lot. I like to tap my brush just a couple times in the product and apply it where my face gets oily the most. If you apply too much powder the face tends to look a bit cakey and that's not a good look haha. The powder brush I use is also from ELF cosmetics from the studio line. It was only $3

Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder
0.3 oz.
Walgreens $9.99

That is it! :)
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and thanks for taking the time to read my blog! XOXO

Current Favorites: Bath Products

Shampoo and Conditioner

Big Sexy Hair: Big Volume Shampoo and Conditioner
33.8 fl. oz
Costco $17.99 (Great buy!)

I purchased these about a week ago and i've been using it everyday. Let me tell you, I fell in love with them! Big Sexy Hair not only gave my hair volume, it also moisturized it too. I wasn't expecting the moister, so when I noticed it, that just made me love it more! I live in Tucson, Arizona and we are well known for having horrible heat temperatures and high humitity in the summer. This shampoo and conditioner kept the volume in my hair throughout the whole day. This set also made my hair smell really clean so that was an added plus.

Body Wash

Vitabath Lime Citron Basil Costco
VitaBath Bath and shower Gel
38 oz.
Costco $16.99

This shower gel is AMAZING! I highly recommend this product. Why? because, VitaBath has vitamins A, B3, B5, C, and E  as well as an antioxidant superfruit blend that nuriouses your body leaving it well mositurized and soft feeling. This product also contains aromatherapy benefits from the lime extract, as well as Aloe Vera to moisturize the skin and help promote healing. Great right!? I cant see myself buying anything else. My skin was so dry from the summer now since i have been using VitaBath I have noticed a great improvement.

Lotion

Jergens Original Scent
21 fl.oz
CVS $6.99

My family and I have been using Jergens Original Scent since I was little. I have tried many other lotions but I always seem to go back to this one. I just love the soft feeling and smell of this product. Jergens claims to give 24- hour moisture and comforting relief that helps eliminate dryness, and I completely agree! My skin feels soft and smooth all throughout the day.
I also really like the fact that both me and my husband can use the same lotion. He normally wont touch my lotions because of the girly scents, but he enjoys the Cherry-Almond scent of Jergens :)

*** These products were purchased with my own money and I am giving my own opinion. Please keep in mind that these products may not work for everyone. ***

My nails Last week

I decided I wanted to do something a little edgy and cute. This is what I came with.

This look was super easy to do, it took hardly any effort. A steady hand is all you need. I usually have a hard time making designs on my right hand, but with practice it's getting easier. :)

Base color for all nails (except ring finger).

Kiss Nail Art Paint: Black
4 to 5 diagonal stripes on nails.

I like Milani's Holographic polish. I plan on purchasing a couple of the other colors, I believe they had 6 different ones to choose from. I bought it at my local CVS for $4.99

My Weight Loss Journey

Today I started my new weight loss journey. I have been very unhappy with the weight that I am at right now and I have been motivated now more then ever to finally attack this goal of mine. In 2009 I had my thyroid removed because I developed Graves Disease. So since than, my weight has been going up and down and all around lol.

What I am doing

I joined a website called MyFitnessPal and what this does is, it helps me track my calorie intake as well as my daily exercise to help me get to my goal weight. So everyday at the end of the day I will log what I had for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and any exercise I've done that day. Seeing my progress daily I feel will help keep me motivated. I also have a tracker on the right of this blog that reminds me of my progress.

The bonus part of joining MyFitnessPal is that its completely free! Who doesn't love free!! Also, there are a lot of other people doing the same thing I am so its also a great way to meet new people and make friends. Oh, and forgot to mention all the great profiles and support from everyone helps inspire me. :)

**I will be doing a weekly blog update on my progress as well**

Join with me!
On the website it says that you can lose 3x more weight when you diet with a friend, and I strongly agree with that. My good friend Kasey aka StillGlamorus joined a couple months ago and has had great progress from it. She is helping me get back into my skinny jeans and I want to help you! :) So I'm asking you to join with us and we can all work together to be healthy and support one another.

If you are already a member I would love to follow you so leave me your profile link in the comment box :)

Real Techniques Brushes *Rave/Review*

I recently purchased Samantha Chapman's Real Techniques starter brushes and I absolutely love them! For those of you who are unfamiliar with Samantha Chapman, she is an amazing makeup artist who also does YouTube tutorials along with her sister Nic under the username Pixiwoo. I cant get enough of their videos. I can sit and watch them all day haha. I've seen them use these brushes many times in their tutorials and just by watching how these brushes apply the product on so soft and effortlessly, I just had to get my hands on some!

This what the packaging looks like. I only purchased the starter set for eyes. You'll notice that with the starter sets, they come with a 2-in-1 case. I thought this was the coolest idea because, not only is it a case, but it's also a stand!

It comes with 5 eye brushes made from ultra plush taklon bristles. Each has a black rubber base, ease to hold and light weight.

I love that they are purple! Purple is my favorite color :)

Here are the brushes up close and their description.

I plan on purchasing more of these brushes very soon. Great quality and very affordable. This starter set was $17.99 at Ulta (I bought with my own money)
I hope this was helpful and if you decide to purchase these brushes let me know what you think! I'm positive you will love them as much as I do

Green and Purple Eyes

My makeup look today!

<3

This is one of my favorite looks I have done. The green and purple really complemented my brown eyes.

Products I used
Quick Tutorial
  • Primed my entire lid with Elf's $1 primer
  • Gently patted Ultas Green machine onto the lid, right before the crease. (Pat to prevent or minimize fall out)
  • Also, Place this color on your lower lash line three quarters of the way, leaving the inner corner clean.
  • In the crease I used the bottom right purple in the "Color of Hope" quad. Then blended the two colors together. Pick up a little more product and place in the bottom outer corner of your eye.
  • Place Ultas Platinum in the inner corner of your eye also, placing it on your lower lashing connecting it to the green.
**Placing a light color in the inner corners of the eye will help the eyes to pop.**

I hope this was easy to follow :)

Also wearing Rimmels Pink Blush lipstick and Still Glamorus Cosmetics blush in Fresh Face

I hope everyone enjoyed this look as much as I did!! Have a great day and stay beautiful <3

Goddess Inspired Nails

I was inspired by one of my favorite pigments from Still Glamorus Cosmetics called Goddess. When I used the pigment the other day I thought, wow I would love this color on my nails. So, I got into drawer of polishes and came up with this. You probably have noticed I use a lot of SinfulColor polishes, this is because I love the longevity of them and I have never had a problem with chipping. I love, love, love them! and not to mention they are really inexpensive and that is always a plus to me :) Try this out and let me know what you think!!

Products used:
SinfulColors - Social Ladder 924 (base color for all nails)
SinfulColor Nail Art- Flower Girl (used on index and ring finger)

Silver Eyes with a Pop of Color

Revlon is one of my favorite drug store brands. Every Revlon product I've bought I  loved So, I recently bought the Revlon ColorStay quad in Silver Fox at my local Walgreens during their 40% off sale (along with others haha) and what attracted me to this product was the pretty teal/green color.

I think colors like that are fun and make every eye color pop. This is the look I did using this quad.

Short Tutorial
  • I used the silver color all over the lid, patting it with a regular eye shadow brush.
  • With a crease brush I placed the top purple color on the outer edge of the eye and blended in a little with the silver.
  • Taking a small angled eyeliner brush, I placed the teal/green color in the bottom lash line.
  • To make the eye pop i used the white color just in the inner corner of my eye.
  • Add mascara and we're done!
*this white was probably meant to be used as a highlight color but its too light for me so, I used Sugar Cookie from Still Glamorus Cosmetics below the brow bone.
